The trend became popularized on TikTok in March 2022.

On February 17th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @hannasuinarciso posted a video where the instrumental for Yeat's song "Money So Big" plays as imagery from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga series flashes by and the title screen intro dialogue^[11] for the video game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven plays, gaining over 8.3 million views in a month (shown below).

As early as March 5th, 2022, TikTokers began participating in a trend under the original sound for @hannasuinarciso's video where they strike various poses made by characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.^[3] It is unclear who started the trend, but some of the earliest videos performing it were uploaded on March 5th, including a post by TikToker^[4] @iamkeilduh who dressed in JoJo's cosplay for the trend, gaining over 4.6 million views in just over three weeks (shown below).

On March 6th and 7th, TikTokers^[5]^[6] @cigarettedxll and @milkhater05 posted videos following the trend, gaining over 2.4 million and 21.3 million views respectively in just over three weeks (shown below, left and right).

On March 8th, TikToker^[7] @noemie.lilii posted a video following the trend, gaining over 31.4 million views in just under three weeks (shown below). On March 11th, YouTuber^[10] TikTok Hop posted a compilation of the trend, gaining over 75,000 views in just under three weeks. The original sound was used in over 90,000 videos by March 30th.

On March 17th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @keiivfx posted a similar video to @hannasuinarciso's where JoJo's Bizarre Adventure imagery flashes by to the same opening dialogue over the instrumental for Sheck Wes's song "WESPN," gaining over 1.5 million views in two weeks (shown below).

The original sound became even more viral than @hannasuinarciso's for the posing trend and was used over 106,000 times by March 30th, 2022. Many of the videos strip the trend back to one pose, revealing their eye over the sound. On March 24th, TikTokers^[8]^[9] @luvtheflex and @vhackerr posted videos following the trend, gaining over 4.3 million and 5.1 million views, respectively, in six days (shown below, left and right).
