About

#JetsDanceToAnything refers to a series of remix videos in which the National Football League's New York Jets are seen dancing to various songs during a timeout in a 2017 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Origin

On November 2nd, 2017, during a late timeout in a game in which the New York Jets were well ahead of the Buffalo Bills, the players danced to the song "444+222" by Lil Uzi Vert, which was playing over the stadium's PA system (shown below).

Spread

The day following the game, the Jets official Instagram account posted the video.[1] On November 3rd, Twitter user @spiceadams uploaded an edited version of the video, changing the music to "My Life" by Billy Joel. This was the first tweet to use the "#JetsDanceToAnything" hashtag (shown below).

After @spiceadams' tweet, the hashtag began trending as people applied various different songs to the clip of the Jets dancing. Popular examples include a tweet by @fooolia which set the clip to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and gained over 3,300 retweets (shown below, top) and another tweet from @spiceadams which set the clip to "Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi, gaining over 9,000 retweets (shown below, bottom). The hashtag was covered by Twitter Moments[2] and Daily Dot.[3]
