Jay Leno's Mafia Debt Theory, also known as Jay Leno's Gambling Debt Theory, refers to a series of conspiracy theories, both sarcastic and genuine, about American comedian Jay Leno supposedly owing money to the mafia after he appeared seriously injured and bruised, claiming the injuries were from falling down a hill at the Hampton Inn in Pennsylvania. The theories regarding Leno's injuries and swollen eye became a viral topic on X / Twitter in mid-November 2024, as well as spawning memes and jokes claiming the comedian was beaten up by the mafia because of a debt.

On November 19th, 2024, Inside Edition uploaded an exclusive interview to its YouTube channel with American comedian Jay Leno in which he said that he suffered a major injury after falling down a 60-foot hill at the Hampton Inn in Pennsylvania, leaving his face severely swollen and bruised. The video interview was posted on X[1] and YouTube[2] on the same day, amassing over 777,000 views and 586,000, respectively, in two days. (seen below)

A day after Jay Leno's interview went viral on X, user @JaiIpose[3] replied to a tweet mentioning the comedian's injured face, writing that he knows when someone has been "beat by an Italian mob when I see one. I know cuz I been there." The tweet (seen below) amassed more than 12 million views and 214,000 likes in a day.
