Jah Pull Off is a catchphrase and copypasta referencing an exchange of comments on TikTok in which users imagine a scenario where rapper Ski Mask the Slump God was in the car with XXXTentacion on the day he was murdered, with one user suggesting Ski Mask would have said, "Jah pull off." The exchange took place in early May 2024 and gained viral spread as the subject of mockery, spreading to X / Twitter that July and becoming a spam comment and copypasta on TikTok.
Origin
On May 7th, 2024, TikToker @ghostaceoffical posted a comment to a video by TikToker[1] @goldislandmusic consisting of a clip of Ski Mask the Slump God telling his craziest XXXTentacion story, writing, "imagne if ski mask was in the car with X," garnering over 4,000 likes in two months. Several users commented on the post, imagining a dialogue between the two men.
One user wrote, “PULL OFFF X PULLL OFF!l “ as Ski Mask. Another responded, “IM TRYING IM TRYINGG!” as XXXTentacion. TikToker @2012lm10 posted in response, "Nah he would have said 'jah pull off'" (shown below).
Spread
On July 14th, 2024, X[2] user @silk8k posted a screenshot of the comment exchange, writing, "No way these niggas actually role playing😂😂" garnering over 6,600 likes in a week (shown below). It was reposted to the subreddit /r/Hiphopcirclejerk[3] the next day, garnering over 180 upvotes in the same span of time.
The phrase "Jah pull off" became a prevalent spam comment on TikTok that month. On July 15th, TikToker[4][5] @ghostaceoffical, who made the original "imagine if Ski Mask was in the car with X" comment, posted several videos calling out people hating on him for the comment, denying the notion that he was roleplaying.
On July 19th, 2024, TikToker[6] @e3ojay posted a video including the phrase among other popular spam comments, expressing how annoying the comments are, garnering over 420,000 views in four days (shown below, left). On July 20th, TikToker[7] @jahmeldageekk posted a video asking for someone to explain the comment while an alarm blares in the background, garnering over 317,000 views in three days (shown below, right).
