It's Wizard Time, Fireball refers to a series of viral exploitable audio clips from the Doom mod Reelism 2 spoken by the wizard enemies, most notably the lines, "It's wizard time, motherfucker" and "Fireball!" The first version of the Reelism 2 mod was released in April 2022 and the voice clips were uploaded as a compilation to YouTube that August, inspiring memes including animations and lip dubs on YouTube and TikTok over the following months using a cut of the wizard saying, "It's wizard time motherfuckers, fireball!"
Origin
On April 15th, 2022, version 1.0 of Reelism 2, a mod for Doom, was released.[1] The mod includes a level where the player is attacked by wizards.[2] On July 7th, 2022, YouTuber[3] Koolaidman7 posted a video combining two audio clips from the mod to make the wizard say, "It's wizard time, motherfucker. Fireball!" over a video of someone lighting a fire in their car, garnering over 75,000 views in a year (embed unavailable, reupload shown below).
This is the earliest known example of the meme. On August 11th, 2022, YouTuber[4] Kzinssie posted a compilation of all of the audio clips of the wizard, garnering over 6,100 views in a year (shown below).

On September 8th, 2022, YouTuber[7] FriendlyCanadian posted an animation using the audio clip of the wizard saying "It's wizard time, fireball," garnering over 42,000 views in a year (shown below).
On September 16th, TikToker[5] @aj.xeno posted a video using the audio clip, garnering over 180,000 views in a year. The original sound[6] was used over 700 times over the next year, most often in comedic skits (popular examples shown below).
On January 14th, 2023, YouTuber[8] PFINNEY posted an animation using the audio clip, garnering over 108,000 views in nine months (shown below).
On August 28th, TikToker[9] @itspoofty posted a video using the audio clip over footage of Baldur's Gate 3 lagging, garnering over 674,000 views in two months (shown below).
