It's Almost Like That's The Whole Point is a viral TikTok audio from 2020 that has gone viral for it's usage in primarily sarcastic videos, with the person using it as a background audio to answer a question that was posed to them with a rhetorical answer. The audio received a large boost in usage in the middle of 2024, with different TikTokers using it to explain specific things about their life and the choices they've made.
Origin
On October 12th, 2020, the TikToker nickdavisfr[1] uploaded the audio as a reply video to a comment that was made on a prior TikTok of his. Earlier in the year, nickdavisfr had attended rehab for addiction, and his content afterward was noticeably different in tone, prompting the TikToker gingertinoco to say that he was changed. The reply made by nickdavisfr received over 265,000 likes in four years and became used by over 20,000 other TikToks (shown below).
Spread
In the beginning of 2021, the audio went viral when it was used as part of a child mental health awareness TikTok by the TikToker your.tiktok.therap1st[2], who used it as the background audio for him replying to people who say that his TikToks, which are meant to promote mental health wellness in kids via stress-reduction techniques, would lead to kids de-prioritizing their schoolwork in favor of decreased burnout and mental health decline, earning over 860,000 likes in three years (shown below).
In mid-2024, the audio had a big resurgence in usage, with various different TikTokers using it as a way to explain their recent decisions. On June 24th, 2024, the TikToker adyleeclark[3] used the audio as the background in her uploaded TikTok talking about her decision to have a destination wedding instead of a traditional one, verifying that the point of her picking a destination wedding was because she wanted fewer people and no kids to be in attendance, earning over 250,000 likes in three months (shown below).
