The initial verse in "Happy," "It might seem crazy what I am 'bout to say," was first used on November 1st, 2023, on TikTok[2] by user @dduck_.gach40ffica1 in a slowed + reverb version of the song paired with the overlay text "How many times have you almost died?" The video (seen below) amassed more than 833,000 plays and 124,000 likes, as well as over 100,000 videos tagged using it, on the platform in two weeks.

After the slowed + reverb version of the music went viral on TikTok, users started making memes with the catchphrase and snowclone, using the verse "it might seem crazy what I am 'bout to say" as a way to express absurd character quotes or real historical events.
For instance, on November 13th, 2023, TikTok[3] user @milanus104 posted a video (shown below, left) while he was in a hospital bed with the overlay text "Why weren't you at school?" that amassed more than 2.7 million plays and 468,000 likes in four days.
