Island Boys Kissing / Incest Baiting

About

Island Boys Kissing, also known as Island Boys Incest Baiting or Island Boys Gay Speculation, refers to multiple photos and videos of the Island Boys (Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd) kissing each other despite them being brothers. The videos and photos were posted to their TikTok and Twitter pages in mid-2023, resulting in viral discourse about the ethics of them kissing and questions about them being homosexual. The kissing videos and photos were also purportedly shared on their OnlyFans account (the Island Boys OnlyFans), which almost resulted in it being banned based on OnlyFans' "no incest" policy. Over the course of their early career, many people in their TikTok LIVEs would tell them to kiss, potentially leading them to their eventual decision.

Origin

Starting in 2021, numerous TikTokers left comments under the Island Boys' videos that joked about them kissing, similar to the I Wonder If They Ever Explored Each Other's Bodies meme. One of the earliest examples was a TikTok^[1] posted by Flyysouljah on October 22nd, 2021, in which the comment read, "Y'all ever thought about kissing each other?" The video gained roughly 34.3 million plays and 2.9 million plays in two years (shown below, left). The "kissing" gag continued on their pages going into 2022 (example from TikTok^[2] shown below, right).

On April 25th, 2022, a video of the Island Boys engaging in a "group kiss" went viral on Instagram.^[3] The kiss gained viral news coverage as well.^[4]

Starting in April 2023, Flyysouljah and Kodiyakredd started to post explicit photos and selfies to their Twitter^[6] pages in order to promote their then-recent OnlyFans account. On July 4th, 2023, Redditor CompetitiveAnswer674 posted four photos to /r/tiktokgossip^[5] from Flyysouljah's Twitter page, writing, "Island Boys are making onlyfans content together 🤢(trigger warning)" and gaining over 490 upvotes in 10 days. The story was then picked up by Dexerto^[7] who claimed that the Island Boys were risking an OnlyFans ban over “incest” claims.

Also on July 4th, 2023, a video was posted to Kodiakredd's TikTok^[8] that was a slideshow of various images and videos of them kissing, gaining roughly 170,000 plays and 1,700 likes in 10 days (shown below).

Spread

News of the Island Boys kissing started to spread on social media going into July 2023, mostly due to a TikTok^[9] posted by Kodiakredd on July 10th, 2023, that showed him kissing another guy, which gained roughly 2 million plays in four days. The video's virality ultimately circled back to engagement with Kodiakredd's July 4th TikTok.^[10] Due to this, it started to get reposted, such as to Twitter^[10] on July 13th by the account of the No Jumper podcast, where it gained roughly 5,500 likes in one day (shown below).

Soon after the repost, the story gained viral reactions, such as a tweet sent by Twitter^[11] user @tonystatovci on July 13th, that used a GIF of Homer Simpson pouring bleach in his eyes, gaining over 2,000 likes in less than a day (shown below).
