"Is It Worth It?" "Oh Yeah, It's Worth It" refers to an exploitable green screen video from Men in Black where James yells after Agent K, who is walking away from the camera, "Is it worth it?" and Agent K responds, "Oh yeah, it's worth it. If you're strong enough." The clip became popularized on TikTok in September 2023 as an exploitable in video edits and memes that joke about something being worth doing.
Origin
In one scene in the 1997 movie Men in Black, Agent K and James sit on a park bench. Agent K explains to James that there are aliens living amongst humans and offers to recruit him as his new partner at the "Men in Black" organization, telling James that he has to "sever every human contact" if he accepts. As Agent K starts to walk off, James yells, "Is it worth it?" and Agent K responds, "Oh yeah, it's worth it. If you're strong enough." The scene was uploaded by YouTuber[1] Scene City on November 18th, 2021, garnering over 2.5 million views in two years (shown below).
On August 26th, 2023, TikToker[2] @southernmotherofdragons used the clip in a video captioned, "When a new person decides they want to be my friend," garnering over 7,000 views in two weeks (shown below, left). On September 6th, TikToker[3] @igreenscreenthings posted a green screen of the scene isolating Agent K walking away, garnering over 3.6 million views in five days (shown below, right).
Spread
The green screen became increasingly popular as an exploitable on TikTok throughout September 2023. On September 7th, 2023, TikToker[4] @j_rok_ posted a meme using the format referencing Starfield, garnering over 250,000 views in four days (shown below, left). On September 8th, TikToker[5] @b1ack_ic3 posted a version of the meme referencing Baldur's Gate 3, garnering over 153,000 views in three days (shown below, right).
On September 10th, TikToker[6] @kristinatonev posted a version of the meme that gained over 60,000 views in under 24 hours (shown below).
