International Waters refers to an exploitable webcomic by One Giant Hand, the strip of popular Twitter user Pixelated Boat. It depicts a sea captain asking if he's in international waters. His crew mate says yes, allowing the captain to think a "forbidden thought." What that thought is is changed in exploitables.
Origin
On May 20th, 2017, One Giant Hand[1] posted the comic to its Tumblr page, where it gained over 440 notes. The original features Jar Jar Binks telling Wario that he's pregnant with his child (shown below).
Spread
The picture quickly turned into an exploitable comic. On September 15th, 2017, an edit appeared in /r/dankmemes that gained over 1,100 points (shown below, left). On November 28th, 2017, a post to Facebook page Political Bible gained over 1,100 likes and reactions (shown below, right).
In May of 2018, the comic saw a slight surge in edits on /r/MemeEconomy. Posts on May 14th, 2018 include an edit posted by Mr_Maniac_451 that gained 72 points (shown below, left). A template for the meme was posted later that day by Whysong823 (shown below, right).
