On November 17th, 2024, YouTuber^[1] Death Battle posted a video in which they imagine a battle between Bowser from the Super Mario Bros. series against Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, garnering over 1.2 million views in a day. The video features animation throughout to depict the battle, along with segments that weight the pros and cons of each fighter.

At the 19:03 mark, King Boo summons a Thwomp to crush Infinite, an enemy in Sonic who is determined not to be weak,^[2] defeating him within seconds.

The scene became the subject of memes and reactions following the video's release, with many finding it funny that a seemingly stronger enemy like Infinite, who is obsessed with being strong and abandoning weakness, was killed so fast.

On November 17th, 2024, X^[3] user @adifying posted the clip, writing, "HOW FAKE REALITY WARPERS LOOK WHEN A REAL GHOUL SHOWS UP," garnering over 22,000 likes in a day. X^[4] user @TragicCrusader posted, "THIS NIGGA INFINITE GOT WASHED BY A THWOMP IM SO DONE," garnering over 15,000 likes in the same span of time.

That night, X^[9] user @default_do90924 posted a screenshot of a comment left under the Death Battle video offering a hypothesis on why it makes sense that Thwomp killed Infinite so easily, garnering over 20,000 likes in a day.
