In The Beninging refers to a viral video of South Africa president Jacob Zuma apparently struggling to say the opening verse of the Bible, "In the beginning." The video is doctored with a voiceover such that Zuma repeats "Beninging." The clip has been remixed multiple times on YouTube.

Origin

On November 20th, 2017, YouTuber M G posted a video in which a person dubs over a speech by Jacob Zuma, such that it looks like he's struggling to read the phrase "In the Beginning." The video gained over 1.8 million views (shown below).

Spread

On November 27th, 2017, YouTuber Zenice Outdoor posted a comparison of the doctored video and the actual clip, gaining over 2.7 million views (shown below).

The doctored clip inspired several remixes on YouTube, including a song remix by user dino, posted October 9th, 2018, that gained over 270,000 views (shown below, left) and a parody by Danky Manky posted November 2nd, 2020 that gained over 15,000 views (shown below, right).
