"I'm Still Worthy" is a memorable quote uttered by the character Thor in the film Avengers: Endgame. Online, people have used the image as a reaction image macro to express feelings of confidence.

Origin

On April 26th, 2019, the Marvel superhero film Avengers: Endgame was released in the United States.[1] In the film, Thor falls into a deep depression (portrayed by Chris Hemsworth). However, after speaking with his mother (portrayed by Rene Russo), his confidence returns and he holds out his hand to beckon his magical hammer. When the hammer arrives at his palm, Thor declares, "I'm still worthy!"

On May 2nd, YouTuber David Soto posted a clip of the scene, which received more than 2,200 views in less than one month (shown below).

Spread

On May 4th, Twitter user @goldmarvel tweeted a GIF of the moment with the caption, "thor's reaction when he found out he was still worthy hurts my heart he was so surprised and happy i'm gonna cry." The post received more than 38,000 retweets and 210,000 likes in less than one month (shown below).


Over the next month, the image was used as a reaction image macros to express feelings of confidence over one's memory. On May 14th, Redditor [2] sloggdogg posted one with the caption "When you type in the Battlefront 2 cheat codes correctly on the first try even though it's been 10 years." The tweet received more than 18,000 points (95% upvoted) and 200 comments (shown below, left).

That day, Redditor[3] posted the image with the caption "When you return home from college for the summer and your dog greets you in the same loving way he always did before." The post received more than 61,000 points (96% upvoted) and 160 comments in one month (shown below, center).

Days later, Redditor[4] tsausiff29 posted the image with the caption "When you load up Wii Sports after 10 years and you can still throw the bowling ball backward." The post received more than 21,000 points (98% upvoted) and 65 comments in three days (shown below, center).
