The viral videos spread on TikTok and Instagram Reels in April 2025.

Origin

On March 25th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @ke22edi posted a video of herself going up to her dog and saying, "I'm so hungry I could eat a dog," gaining over 1.7 million likes in a month (shown below).

Similar iterations with animals and pets were shared on TikTok^[2][3] in the following days.

On April 11th, TikToker^[4] @jada.lynn20 posted a video of her son, showing his dad telling him, "I'm so hungry right now I could eat a kid," and recording his reaction. Over 11 days, the video received roughly 6.5 million likes (shown below).

Spread

The abovementioned video started a viral TikTok trend of using the "I'm So Hungry I Could Eat X" snowclone on other people. For instance, on April 12th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @mariyahflinn also posted an "I'm so hungry right now I could eat a kid" video, gaining over 216,000 likes in 10 days (shown below).

On April 17th, TikToker^[6] @sketerbobeater posted a video of herself telling her roommate that she was so hungry she could eat a wiener dog. The roommate apparently loved wiener dogs. Over five days, the video received roughly 724,800 likes (shown below).

On April 20th, 2025, TikToker^[7] @_prettyyopp posted a video from an Uber ride, in which she said, "I'm so hungry I could eat my Uber driver," gaining over 2.3 million likes in two days (shown below).
