I’m Just Going To Say It: I Love You is a copypasta about a Discord message in which the person is in love, further writing, "Everytime I see your pfp or discord status change into something that doesn't match mine it breaks my heart." The copypasta originates from a Reddit post about a "Confession of love to my discord crush" originally shared in late 2021.

Origin

On December 14th, 2021, Redditor^[1] TeenageAnonymous posted a copypasta to /r/copypasta called "Confession of love to my discord crush." It read:

I'm just going to say it: i love you. Everytime I see your pfp or discord status change into something that doesn't match mine it breaks my heart. When I see you talking or hanging out with other people I get jealous because the truth is, I want you all to myself. i see a future with you and i want to be married to you. i want to be your boyfriend and you write my name in your bio and ill write yours. I want people to know you're mine and that I'm yours. I want to call you for hours at a time stare back at the ceiling while I hold back what's on my mind. I want to be on call when you sleep and when you wake up. I want you forever. I know you don't feel the same way and im probably jsut another online person you game with but i seriously love you. and i dont love easily. i think you're so cute and i want to see your face more often you're my baby and i want you to only give attention to me :) i dont care about anything else just you and me against the world baby <3

Spread

The copypasta received minor spread on Twitter / X^[2]^[3] in 2022 as it was reposted outside Reddit.

On July 30th, 2023, X^[4] user @ilovefnafyaoi tweeted a screenshot that added to the My Twitter Automatically Updated memes shared after Twitter's Rebrand to X. The screenshot showed a Discord notification that showed the start of the copypasta. It received over 78,000 likes in nine months (shown below, left).

On August 20th, Instagram^[5] user @grubburd shared a cropped version of the meme, adding text reading, "hate the new icon," receiving over 52,300 likes in eight months (shown below, right).

Going into 2024, the copypasta continued to gain minor spread on X^[6] and TikTok.^[7]
