I'm In the Silver Car or I'm the Silver Car is a catchphrase referencing a viral TikTok video showing a silver Daihatsu Copen driving in reverse on a race track during a game of Gran Turismo 7 and winning, captioned, "should i go pro? (im in the silver car)." The video was uploaded in early January 2025 and became the subject of memes that month in which the phrase is used in a mocking manner, often alongside footage of similar silver cars.
Origin
On January 6th, 2025, TikToker[1] @.zynrg posted a video of themselves winning a Gran Turismo 7 race in a silver Daihatsu Copen while driving in reverse, captioned, "should I go pro? (Im in the silver car)." The video is set to a remix of a man beatboxing[2] and gained over 2.3 million views in three weeks.
Spread
The phrases "I'm in the silver car" and "I'm the silver car" garnered viral spread on TikTok over the following weeks in reference to the video, often under the same original sound.
On January 23rd, 2025, TikToker[3] @gintanispotz posted a video of a Copen pulling into a gas station set to the sound, captioned, "'I'm the silver car ahh,'" garnering over 700,000 views in four days.
On the same day, TikToker[4] @f1inschoolskickstart posted a Gran Turismo 7 video using the same car captioned, "Are my brakes strong enough?" showing the car brake and then crash, the description reading, "I'm in the silver car," garnering over 910,000 views in four days.
On December 25th, 2024, TikToker[5] @mjaycrx posted a video captioned, "rate my drifting 1/10 (ignore the silver car)," in which they drift by a silver Copen in a Jeep, garnering over 1.1 million views in two days.
