Origin

In the series premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians spinoff Kourtney and Kim Take New York that aired January 23rd, 2011, Kim attempts to enjoy single life, and goes on a date. She explains in an on-camera interview that she is "dropping hints" that she's single to her date. The camera then cuts to her blurting "I'm single" with no subtlety for humorous effect.[1]
