Sporadic examples of X users using the catchphrase "I'm a visual learner BTW" can be traced as far back as 2012.^[1][2] The earliest known viral post to use the phrase "I'm a visual learner BTW" is a since-deleted March 16th, 2017, X post by user @H8UHOES, as seen in an Instagram^[3] repost by @whitepeoplehumor, where it gathered over 5,600 likes in six years (seen below).

Spread

Various X users made posts using the "visual learner" phrasal template in 2020, with X^[4] user @plsfindmeagf making a post on March 4th, 2020 that read, "what is Being Kissed by a Girl like? I’m a Visual learner BtW," gathering over 17,000 likes in three years (seen below, left). On July 23rd, Twitch streamer and X^[5] user JustaMinx made a post that read, "wtf are boobies?! / I'm a visual learner btw," gathering over 48,000 likes in three years (seen below, right).

In 2021, the meme spread to Instagram, with the Instagram^[6] page @mememanmyles posting a meme featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and text that read, "Yo WTF are boobs? I'm a visual learner BTW" on August 6th, 2021. The post gathered over 34,000 likes in two years (seen below, left). On August 26th, the Instagram^[7] page @astolfo.isnt.gay posted a similar meme that read, "Yo wtf is a bussy? I'm a visual learner BTW."
