Around early June 2021, TikToker^[1] @linny_ann posted a video showing what sounds like a young girl using a facial filter to appear as though they're a blueberry. She says, "I'm a beatboxing blueberry," then proceeds to beatbox, transitioning into lyrics from The Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps." The account and video have since been deleted. The video was reuploaded to YouTube^[2] on June 25th by Я люблю вареники, gaining over 284,000 views in five months (shown below). On June 13th, the original voice of the blueberry opened another TikTok^[4] account @thebeatboxingblueberry, reuploaded the video that day.

On June 12th, 2021, TikToker^[8] @im__lox3 posted a video reuploaded the audio from the video over footage from the anime Hunter x Hunter, gaining over 2 million views in five months. The original sound became notably popular, inspiring over 37,000 videos by November (popular examples shown below, left and right).

On June 14th, 2021, TikToker^[5] @kitti5553 posted an animation setting the same audio to footage from the anime Demon Slayer, gaining over 4.8 million views in five months (shown below). The audio went more viral, inspiring over 260,000 videos by November.

The original sound for the video became significantly popular, inspiring over 260,000 videos by November, particularly over the course of June and July. Many of these are lip dub videos where TikTokers mouth the words to the audio, including the beatboxing, and dance along to it in a cutesy way. For example, on July 14th and 19th, TikTokers^[6][7] @homm9k and @kikakiim posted videos like this, gaining over 37.9 million and 17.9 million views respectively in four months (shown below, left and right).

On July 12th, YouTuber^[3] Seven the crazy cat lady posted an animation showing a character lip dubbing and dancing to the audio, gaining over 189,000 views in four months (shown below).

On July 24th, TikTok Hop posted a compilation of videos using the sound, gaining over 1.3 million views in four months (shown below).
