If X Had Roblox and If X Played Minecraft refers to a series of AI voice memes that imagine characters playing Minecraft, Roblox and other popular games, commonly dubbed with artificial intelligence narration of a certain copypasta, such as Guys What One Is Your Favorite? or Skibidi Toilet or Creeper.

Origin

The format shares its origin with the Guys What One Is Your Favorite? meme format. On June 7th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @awesome_huggywuggy posted a video in which he was scrolling through playable avatars in the game Roblox, most of which were characters from the mascot horror game Poppy Playtime. He asked his viewers, "Guys, what one is your favorite? Huggy Wuggy, Seek, Scary Blue, Zumbo Sauce," and continued to list characters, including ones from Five Nights at Freddy's. The video gained roughly 1.3 million plays and 132,100 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

On July 27th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @freezensdemise posted the first known AI-generated voice parody in which Yakuza character Goro Majima said the copypasta, gaining over 4,100 views and 230 likes in 11 days (shown below, left). On July 28th, TikToker^[3] @huh_questionmark.exe posted a Peter Griffin version that received over 134,000 views and 13,300 likes in 10 days (shown below, right).

Starting in late July 2023, more versions of the meme were posted on TikTok and YouTube.

If X Had Minecraft / Skibidi Toilet or Creeper

On July 2nd, 2023, TikTok^[4] user spider_kerfus posted a clip of a Russian boy making a choice between a Skibidi Toilet and a creeper in Minecraft, with the clip gaining over 14,900 views and 570 likes in two months (shown below, left). On July 7th, TikToker^[5] themonterlandsfinest posted a Polish version of the video dubbed in Polish with a high-pitched voice. The video (shown below) received over 2 million views and 181,000 likes in two months.

Similar to the If X Had Roblox trend, the video spawned memes in which the copypasta was voiced by various characters using AI. For example, in late August 2023, a version narrated by Heavy from Team Fortress 2 went viral on TikTok^[6] and X.^[7]
