Variations can include other things, like BP's oil spill, obesity, – pretty much any moment in time where people just don't care about something and later regret it and it's just funny.

It's going pretty much anywhere where there has been a moment in time where someone didn't GAF and later felt the full consequence of their not giving a fuck.
