Ice Spice X Bladee refers to the shipping of Swedish cloud rapper Bladee and New York drill rapper Ice Spice. In early 2023, fans of both artists began to draw parallels between their lyrics and lifestyles, likely inspired by an old resurfaced tweet where Ice Spice says she is "smacced listening to Swedish rap."

Origin

Bladee is a Swedish rapper and founding member of the artistic collective Drain Gang. Ice Spice is a drill rapper from New York, known for her hit song "Munch," which was released in 2022.

On May 13th, 2020, Ice Spice posted a tweet to her Twitter^[1] account that read, "smacced listening to swedish rap," gathering over 2,000 likes in over two years (seen below).

In late 2022, various TikTokers began posting remixes of Drain Gang productions and Ice Spice lyrics, with TikToker^[2] @akayssr posting a remix of Ecco2k's song "Peroxide" and Ice Spice's track "Munch" on September 24th, 2022, gathering over 22,000 plays and 3,000 likes in nearly four months (seen below, left). On November 21st, 2022, TikToker^[3] @lewkhaki posted a remix of Bladee's track "Be Nice 2 Me" and Ice Spice's song "Bikini Bottom," gathering over 17,000 plays and 1,800 likes in two months (seen below, right).

On January 17th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @sunconick posted a video holding a body pillow with Ice Spice on it, alongside a remix combining Ice Spice and Bladee's music. It gathered over 23,000 plays and 3,000 likes in over a week (seen below, left). On January 25th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @superpoopy1437 posted a video using @sunconick's sound, showing Ice Spice and Bladee doing a similar dance move. The video gathered over 380,000 plays and 75,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).

On January 19th, 2023, Twitter^[6] user @xiu_shoegaze posted a tweet with a collection of screenshots showing parallels between the lyrics of the Bladee song "BBY" and Ice Spice's track "Bikini Bottom," gathering over 12,000 likes in a week (seen below).

On January 24th, Twitter^[7] user @digiyams posted a "Name Sound-alikes meme using screenshots from Bladee and Ice Spice's Spotify pages, gathering over 5,000 likes in three days (seen below).
