On September 18th, 2025, Lenar released the song "Montagem Miau" on YouTube,^[1] garnering over 391,000 views in two months.

On November 6th, TikToker^[2] @starbucks4life51 posted a video set to the song beginning with the caption, "Bro I would never meow for anyone." Three captions are then shown, attributed to a kawaii femboy, Ash Trevino and a Roblox BF, asking if she would meow for them as she lip dubs meowing sound effects. The video garnered over 3.9 million views in two weeks and is the earliest known example of the trend.

The meme continued to spread throughout November 2025 on TikTok, also inspiring memes on Instagram Reels and X / Twitter.
