I Wonder What He's Drawing refers to a series of exploitable webcomics. The comic features a woman wondering if she is the inspiration for an artist she sees on the train. Online, people replace what the artist is drawing for humorous effect.

Origin

In February 2018, Buzzfeed released a comic entitled "A True Artst" by Martisa Patrinos.[1] The comic features a woman on the train observing an artist working adjacent herself. Finally, she says, "I wonder what he's drawing. Is he drawing me?" However, in the last panel, it's revealed that the artist is drawing a picture of a human buttocks with the title "Butts" (shown below).

Spread

On February 23rd, 2018, Redditor [2] DrunkThrowsMcBrady posted the comic in the /r/ComedyCemetery subreddit. The post received more than 7,800 points (94% upvoted) and 260 comments.

Shortly after, people on Reddit began editing the comic and adding new final panels. On February 24th, Redditor[3] published a version (shown below, left) in the /r/dankmemes subreddit, receiving more than 50 points (82% upvoted).

On March 19th, Facebook [3] @wholesomememers posted a version in which the fourth panel reads, "You." The post (shown below, center) received more than 630 reactions and 130 shares in four months.

Three days later, Redditor[4] thecrunchyoatmeal posted a version in the /r/dankmemes subreddit featuring rapper Corey Struggs. The post (shown below, right) received more than 700 points (96% upvoted) in three months.
