Origin

On June 16th, 2019, HBO aired the Big Little Lies episode "Tell-Tale Heart." In the episode, the character Renata Klein (portrayed by Laura Dern( yells at her imprisoned husband "I will not not be rich," when his arrest threatens her finances (clip below).^[1]

Spread

Following the release of the episode, people online began talking about the line and praising Dern's performance. Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon posted a video of the moment, writing "@LauraDern you are EVERYTHING in this episode." The post received more than 259,000 views, 9,000 likes and 1,400 retweets in two days (shown below).

Others used the image as a reaction. Twitter^[2] user @hunteryharris tweeted, "me using the rosebud cheat to give my sims the life they deserve."
