I Want Them To Sandwich Me refers to catchphrase said by character Sakuta Azusagawa from the anime series Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai while he looking at the character Mai's thighs. The scene has been used extensively online as part of fan art and Redraw memes in which Mai is replaced with another pop culture media character, often with Extra Thicc thighs.

Origin

On November 28th, 2018, the episode 9 of Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai titled "シスターパニック" (Eng. Sister Panic) has been premiered in Japan^[1]. In the episode, Sakuta and Mai at the beach, Sakuta waiting on the shore while looking Mai playing on the seashore. The scene was uploaded to YouTube on August 31st, 2020, by the channel Anime TV^[2] where it gained over 13,000 views in three years (shown below).

The catchphrase gained popularity on Reddit as it began to be used on posts featuring Dummy Thicc anime characters. On November 29th, 2018, Reddit^[3] user Jekporkins456 uploaded a He's Speaking the Language of the Gods edit of the meme to the /r/Animemes subreddit. The post received more than 1,900 upvotes in five years (shown below, left). On October 21st, 2020, Reddit^[4] user crisrolf uploaded Recaption edit using the scene to the /r/goodanimemes subreddit. The post received more than 8,100 upvotes in three years (shown below, right).

On August 31st, 2021, the YouTube channel Nasu_Senpaiii^[5] uploaded a redraw video based on the scene and received more than 549,000 views in two years (shown below, left). On April 6th, 2023, YouTube^[6] user DGosu uploaded similar redraw by using Genshin Impact characters. The video received more than 415,000 views in four months (shown below, right).
