On March 21st, 2025, rapper glizzyfr posted an Instagram Reel[1] that was an audio file of an unreleased song. At one point, glizzyfr raps, "I used to have hoop dreams until I found out there were other ways to score. If you're gonna be my bitch, you have to be obedient, you cannot be a whore." Over three months, the video received over 3,000 likes (shown below).

On May 4th, 2025, TikToker[2] @_xipho_ posted a Corecore edit that used glizzyfr's snippet, starting with the "I used to have hoop dreams" bar. The video received over 176,600 likes in a month (shown below).

The abovementioned video spawned a TikTok sound[3] that was used by others in the following weeks. For instance, on May 29th, TikToker[4] @worldsfirstblackperson posted a video of himself lip dubbing the song, gaining over 48,200 likes in two weeks.

On May 31st, 2025, TikToker[5] @pilloffdaperc posted a video of himself set to the song, in which he changes into a Naruto cosplay midway through the first bar. The video received over 53,700 likes in 12 days (shown below).

On June 2nd, TikToker[6] @flynndrixx posted a POV skit with the song, showing, "A burglar breaks in and tells your HB [homeboy] to spit bars or he swiss cheesing both of us." Over 10 days, the video gained roughly 70,700 likes (shown below).

Edits and memes with the song continued heading into June 2025. For instance, on June 8th, TikToker[7] @chadamsp5 posted an edit with Doctor Eggman from Sonic, gaining over 361,500 likes in four days (shown below).

On June 7th, glizzfr posted a new video with the snippet to TikTok,[8] showing himself lip dubbing it on a basketball court. Over five days, it received over 27,600 likes (shown below).

During the same timeframe, the meme spread to other social media sites like Twitter / X. For instance, on June 7th, 2025, X[9] user @garfieldtheheel tweeted an image of professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) saying the bar, gaining over 1,400 likes in five days (shown below).



By June 12th, 2025, the trend's primary TikTok sound[3] had amassed over 34,500 posts.
