I Think We Can All Agree That is a phrasal template used to express admiration for a celebrity. Generally, the template follows the structure of stating "I Think We Can All Agree That" and concluding the thought with just the celebrity's name as if no other explanation is necessary. The format, which is associated with Stans on Twitter, has grown since first emerging in November 2019.
Origin
The origin of the meme is currently unknown, but the earliest known usage was posted by Twitter user @jinsgay who tweeted, "i think we can all agree that seokjin baby." The post received more than 3,200 likes and 1,000 retweets in less than three months (shown below).
Spread
Over time, the meme continued to grow in usage. On December 9th, Twitter Music's official account tweeted,[1] "i think we can all agree that adore you by harry styles." The post received more than 16,000 likes and 4,300 retweets in less than two months (shown below).
The following week, on December 14th, Twitter user @MIN9YU tweeted, "i think we can all agree that mingyu." The post received more than 3,200 likes and 1,500 retweets in less than two months (shown below).
By the end of the month, the format had gone viral, with posts receiving tens of thousands of retweets and likes. For example, on December 27th, Twitter[2] user @sirchalamet tweeted, "I think we can all agree that timothée chalamet." The tweet received more than 47,000 likes and 10,000 retweets in less than two months (shown below).
In January, the meme continued to grow in popularity. On January 9th, Twitter[3] user @gvnegirI tweeted, "I think we can all agree that Amy Adams." The tweet received more than 128,000 likes and 13,000 retweets in less than one month (shown below, left). Twitter[4] user @beyonseh tweeted, "i think we can all agree that beyoncé." The post received more than 42,000 likes and 10,000 retweets in less than one month (shown below, center). Twitter[5] user @pattinsonbats tweeted, "i think we can all agree that robert pattinson…" The tweet received more than 9,300 likes and 2,200 retweets in less than one week (shown below, right).
