"I Need An Adult" is a catchphrase taught to children as a means of avoiding sexual predators. However, online, it used to express one's feeling of discomfort or disapproval towards something that's been said or posted by another user.

Origin

Originally the phrase was commonly taught to young children as a way to avoid sexual harassment from others. Online, its popularity can likely be traced to the Family Guy episode "He's Too Sexy For His Fat" which originally aired on June 27th, 2000.

Spread

The quote was subsequently used in Team Four Star's DragonBall Z Abridged series .On September 28th, 2010, YouTuber Cityescape4 uploaded a short compilation of various uses of the phrase from Team Four Star's DragonBall Z Abridged series.

The TFS scene has been parodied many times by other YouTubers, especially within the freeware animation program, Miku Miku Dance (examples shown below).

On September 9, 2011 Rooster Teeth channel GameFails uploaded a Skate 3 clip entitled "I need an adult". As of June 2015 the video has over 120,000 views.
