I Met This Guy On Holiday refers to a popular photoshopped of a woman with actor Michael B. Jordan. The image went viral in the fall of 2018, generating numerous variations on the image as well as a meeting between the poster and Jordan.

Origin

On November 24th, 2018, Twitter [1] user @BeeBabs tweeted an photoshopped image of herself with Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan. They captioned the tweet, "I met this guy on holiday this summer-we had a such a great connection but I changed my number and we lost touch. Twitter do your thing😭🙏🏿❤." The tweet received more than 20,000 retweets and 134,000 likes in five days (shown below).


Spread

Following the post, others on Twitter made similar tweets, expressing their desire to reach out to a celebrity.[2] Some of these images included a photoshopped image of the Twitter user with the celebrity (shown below).

On November 28th, @BeeBabs posted a video of herself meeting Michael B. Jordan at a screening of Jordan's film Creed II. The video received more than 19,000 views (shown below).


Later that day, she posted a photograph of the two together. She captioned the image,[3] "Ms Steal Your Man. Case closed." The tweet received more than 2,100 retweets and 22,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, left).

The following day,[4] Jordan retweeted the image, writing "Happy Twitter did it’s thing 🙌🏾🌹🙏🏾😂 Great meeting you (for the second time 🤷🏾‍♂️😂😂😂)" The tweet received more than 2,200 retweets and 15,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, right).

Several media outlets covered the story, including Mashable, [5] Nylon,[6] The Daily Dot. [7] Twitter[8] published a Moments page about the story, as well.
