Some versions of the meme also edit her image as an exploitable format with additional elements.

Origin

On August 30th, 2024, musician Doechii's album Alligator Bites Never Heal was released. The fourth track on the album is titled "DENIAL IS A RIVER." Throughout the song, Doechii has a conversation with her alter ego. In one section, Doechii raps about how she likes to do "Hollywood shit," rapping, "I mean, fuck, I like pills, I like drugs, I like gettin' money…," continuing to rap about things she likes to take part in.^[1]

In February 2025, the lyrics of the song started to inspire memes on X / Twitter.

For example, on February 2nd, 2025, X^[2] user @antipiker posted a selfie under the lyrics, garnering over 1,900 likes in two weeks. On February 9th, X^[3] user @egirlpeidona posted a GIF from Animal Crossing under the lyrics that gained over 170,000 likes in nine days.

Spread

On February 12th, 2025, X^[4] user @pastapilled posted a GIF of a dog that appears to be dancing to the lyrics of the song, garnering over 340,000 likes in six days.

On February 18th, X^[5] user @_D3KAE posted an image of Doechii, captioned, "I mean, fuck, I like cats, I like dogs, I like little bunnies, I like hamsters, I like frogs," garnering over 221,000 likes in under a day.

X users continued to use this image of Doechii under new variations on the lyrics. Later that day, X^[6] user @viewerspookies posted a version of the meme referencing YouTubers, reading, "I mean fuck I like dan, I like phil, I like snokoplasm, I like whiskers, I like the pheal," garnering over 2,500 likes in under a day.

Also on February 18th, 2025, X^[7] user @tgcfied posted a version of the meme that gained over 2,600 likes in roughly six hours.
