I Made Queso refers to a tweet made by Fox News contributor Dana Perino with a picture of queso dip she made. Twitter users mocked the tweet, as they thought the queso dip didn't look appetizing. Some users parodied the tweet by turning "I made queso" into a copypasta which they paired with disgusting and humorous photos.

Origin

On February 3rd, 2019, shortly after the kickoff of Super Bowl LIII, Fox News contributor Dana Perino[1] posted a tweet showing queso dip she made (shown below).


Spread

The tweet was quickly mocked on Twitter for Perino's apparent failure at making appetizing queso dip. User @FailShark photoshopped the image to feature Crying Jordan, gaining over 740 retweets and 7,200 likes (shown below, left). User and TV writer Ariel Dumas photoshopped Gritty's eyes and mouth onto the queso, gaining over 130 retweets and 1,400 likes (shown below, right).

Dumas' tweet was one of many which turned "I made queso" into a copypasta that was paired with a humorous image. Other popular examples include a tweet by Gideon Resnick parodying the Fyre Festival sandwiches, gaining over 230 retweets and 3,700 likes (shown below, left). User @tjdfotographist posted an image from an opened sarcophagus in Egypt, gaining over 130 retweets and 1,700 likes (shown below, right). Jokes were covered by Huffington Post[2] and NJ.com.[3]
