Pill Time is a four-panel Schizoposting Rage Comic in which an apparently schizophrenic Trollface, happy to have a companion, takes his medication and finds out that his companion has vanished. In memes, various characters are edited in as Trollface's wife or friend.

Origin

On January 25th, 2021, Twitter^[1] user @troll_oiler posted a four-panel Rage Comic featuring Trollface, Derpina and Trollge. In the comic, the apparently schizophrenic Trollface takes his medication, with his wife Derpina vanishing into the air. In the last panel, Trollface loses his smile and asks where his wife is. The post received over 560 retweets and 4,300 likes in two months.

Spread

On January 26th, 2021, Twitter^[2]^[3] users @LithuanianUrgan and @MediaOOC reposted the comic, with the reposts gaining over 1,400 likes and 260 likes in two months, respectively.

On January 27th 2021, Facebook^[9] user Hilmanerik Andhikersen uploaded the earliest derivative meme based on the Rage Comic. In the version, Derpina is replaced with Aiko Takamori from THE iDOLM@STER. The post received 80 reactions and 108 shares in two months (shown below). On the same day, Twitter^[4] account images that might be cursed, @ mightbecursed reposted it. The post received over 320 retweets and 3,400 likes in two months, respectively.

Prior to late March 2021, the format saw moderate spread online, with users mainly editing in their waifus to take Derpina's place (examples shown below, left and right).^[5]^[6] On February 17th, 2021, VK^[7] page I Want Big Floppa (rus. Хочу big floppa) posted a Big Floppa edit that gained over 460 likes and 50 shares in two months (shown below, right).

The format saw a surge in popularity online in late March 2021 after on March 27th Facebook^[8] page Rappers In Peculiar Places posted an ironic DaBaby meme based on the format.
