I Just A Baby or I'm Just A Baby refers to a viral video where a mother asks her daughter Cosette to say "okay" when she asks her to stop, responding, "I just a baby" as an excuse for her behavior. The video was posted to TikTok by @little.blooming.women in February 2022 and went viral as an original sound, inspiring over 99,600 videos in three months. It was temporarily removed from the platform in March when TikTok deleted it and banned the uploader's account for unclear reasons.

Origin

On February 22nd, 2022, TikToker[1] @little.blooming.women uploaded a video to TikTok where she tells her daughter Cosette, or CoCo, "When mommy says 'stop' you say 'okay.'" Cosette responds, "I just a baby," her mom says, "but you still have to say, 'Okay, mom," and Cosette replies more insistently, "I just a baby." The video gained over 82.4 million views in three months (shown below).

The video's original sound went viral that month, inspiring over 99,000 videos by May. The majority of the videos are lip dubs about making excuses, often featuring pets. For example, on February 25th, TikToker[6] @laurmcglynn posted a video to the sound with her dog, gaining over 14 million views in three months (shown below, left). On March 10th, TikToker[7] @papi.emmy posted a video using thesound, gaining over 12.7 million views in two months (shown below, right).

Ban From TikTok

On March 9th, 2022, the video's uploader, @little.blooming.women, was banned from TikTok. The viral "I just a baby" video was deleted because of this. She reposted the video to Instagram[4] that day, announcing the ban in her caption. On March 14th, she uploaded a video to a new TikTok[2] account, @little.blooming.women2, explaining how she couldn't log into her account that morning because it was banned for unclear reasons (shown below). She re-uploaded the viral video to the account,[3] gaining only 500,000 views in two months. On March 22nd, Independent[5] reported on the ban.

On March 20th, the original @little.blooming.women TikTok account was reinstated, which was announced with an upload where Cosette yells, "I'm back," gaining over 428,000 views in two months (shown below). The reason for the ban was not elaborated on.

I Was Born A Dog

I Was Born A Dog refers to a trending original sound on TikTok where a child says, "I was born a dog, I identify as a dog, but according to my mom," followed by the viral video of Cosette saying, "I just a baby." The sound was uploaded in May 2022 and was used over 100,000 times that month in videos where TikTokers use the sound over footage of puppies and dogs.
