"I Have Done Nothing Productive All Day" is an expression and reaction GIF used to congratulate oneself on an utter lack of accomplishment. Since catching hold in the Brony community, the phrase has inspired numerous MLP-related GIFs in celebration of slacking or wasting time in general.

Origin

Though the phrase itself may be older, the first known iteration of the phrase in GIF form was submitted to Reddit's /r/funny^[1] subreddit on September 21st, 2011, in a post titled "I just realized." As of March 2014, the submission has gained over 1,500 points and over 16,000 upvotes.

Spread

On December 23rd, 2011, the first hashtag instance of the phrase^[3] was tweeted out by @JonnyCorner123.

On June 26th, 2012, YouTuber Liz Aimee^[2] uploaded a video titled "I Have Done Nothing Productive All Day" which features the the original animated GIF played on a loop with an upbeat instrumental soundtrack. As of March 2014, the video has gained over 2,000 views.

On January 15th, 2013, a Facebook^[4] page for "I Have Done Nothing Productive All Day" was created.

On November 7, 2013, YouTuber Argodaemon^[5] uploaded a video titled "I Have Done Nothing Productive All Day" featuring a My Little Pony turning in a swivel chair to a speed up version of Tiny Tim's "Living in the Sunlight." As of March 2014, the video has over 36,000 views.
