I Don't Wanna Fight You, Flash or I Wouldn't Wanna Fight Me Neither is an exploitable image macro depicting a scene from the 2002 Spider-Man movie where Peter Parker tells Flash Thompson, who wants to fight him, "I don't wanna fight you." followed by Flash, with his fists up, saying, "I wouldn't wanna fight me neither." The scene was first used as a meme on Reddit's /r/raimimemes in July 2018 and became increasingly popular as an exploitable and object labeling meme over the following years,

Origin

On July 5th, 2018, Redditor u/mikhailnikolaievitch posted an image macro to /r/raimimemes[1] depicting a scene in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man where Flash Thompson squares up to fight Peter Parker in the school hallway. On the top panel of the meme, Parker is captioned saying, "I don't wanna fight you, Flash." In the bottom panel, Flash says, "I wouldn't wanna fight me neither," with Flash the superhero's face photoshopped over Thompson's, garnering over 470 upvotes in five years (shown below). This is the earliest known meme using the scene online.

Spread

The meme spread over the following years, inspiring numerous viral posts. On March 30th, 2019, iFunny[2] user This_account_is_inactive__2018 posted a version of the meme replacing Peter with Thanos, garnering over 50,000 smiles in four years (shown below). On July 28th, Redditor u/holy_maguire_memes posted a version of the meme to /r/raimimemes[3] that gained over 2,700 upvotes in the same span of time.

On March 11th, 2020 Redditor u/theduckyduck1 posted a wholesome version of the meme to /r/raimimemes,[4] garnering over 16,000 upvotes in three years (shown below, left). On March 31st, FunnyJunk[[5] user asdsadsaddsaz posted a version referencing Doom, garnering over 1,080 upvotes in three years (shown below, right).

On May 15th, Redditor u/ElderScrollsBjorn_ posted a version of the meme to /r/SkyrimMemes[6] about fighting mudcrabs in the video game Skyrim that gained over 6,400 upvotes in three years (shown below, left). On April 21st, 2022, X[7] user @ZeeZeeMooMoo posted a version of the meme about actor Ezra Miller, referencing his controversies in Hawaii that year, garnering over 120,000 likes in a year (shown below, right).
