I Don't Even Think You Really Know What a Bad Day Is or You Don't Really Know What a Bad Day Is is a viral audio clip of Russell Crowe yelling at a woman in a car that he doesn't believe she knows what a bad day really is, then says, "but you're going to find out." The audio comes from the 2020 film Unhinged and became the subject of lip dubs on TikTok in January 2025, in which it is used alongside captions about having a bad day and, ultimately, a harder time than someone else who claims they had a bad day.

Origin

On August 14th, 2020, Unhinged was released in theaters.^[1] The film is about a woman, Rachel, who has a negative interaction with a driver, Tom, (Russell Crowe) while stuck in rush-hour traffic, resulting in the driver targeting the woman throughout the day to get revenge on her. In one scene, Rachel quickly passes and cuts off Tom. He pulls up beside her and asks her son to lower his window so he can confront Rachel. She refuses to apologize to Tom and he apologizes for making her day worse, yelling, "I don't even think you really know what a bad day is. But you're going to find out."

On December 15th, 2024, the scene was uploaded by TikToker^[2] @eggo.vsp with an additional caption reading, "Parents as soon as you mention the word 'stress,'" garnering over 4.9 million views in a month.

The audio became increasingly popularized in January 2025 as the source of lip dubs. For example, on January 3rd, 2025, TikToker^[3] @miactopus posted a video to the sound captioned, "adults whenever teenagers say they're tired because apparently you can only be tired when you're paying bills and have a job," garnering over 2.5 million views in 10 days.

On January 11th, TikToker^[4] @taiyah.darnelll posted an example of the meme captioned, "When my boyfriend thinks I have attitude but his the first and only man I've ever been kind to," garnering over 800,000 views in two days.
