I Can Imagine Anything is a reaction image depicting a photograph of a man in red glasses pressing his index finger to his temple with a red light glowing on his face. Originally posted in the /r/notinteresting subreddit, the image gained virality online as an illustration for redraws and memes about supernatural psychic abilities.

Origin

On August 11th, 2022, Redditor Sarcastic-Prick posted a photograph of a man in red glasses, presumably themselves, holding a finger to their temple, titling the post, "I can imagine anything." The post garnered over 38,800 upvotes in the /r/notinteresting[1] subreddit in six months (post and image shown below, left and right).

Spread

On August 12th, 2022, Tumblr[2] user campyvillain posted a screenshot of the post, which accumulated over 9,000 reblogs and 15,000 likes in six months.

On September 8th, 2022, Twitter[3] user @itthetrashman posted the earliest found meme based on the image, captioning it with a joke about Queen Elizabeth II's death (shown below). The post received over 5,400 retweets and 41,200 likes in five months.

On September 9th, 2022, Twitter[4] user @SaintKeaReal captioned the image, "*blows up penis with mind*". The post (shown below) received over 1,500 retweets and 12,500 likes in five months, while a screenshot of it was widely circulated online.

Through late 2022, the image maintained popularity both as a reaction and as source material for image captions, often being captioned with jokes about psychic abilities. Additionally, redraws[5] of the image have also been posted online.
