Origin

The exact publication date of the original image is unknown but is estimated to be 2007 or early 2008. The image (shown below) depicts silhouettes of a man bowing down on his hands and knees with a woman in high heels standing above him and making a commanding gesture with her hand. In early 2008, the image was posted on several websites, including kwick.de and Photobucket. On February 6th, 2008, the earliest archived derivative image based on the image was posted on Kwick.de,[1] with an unknown user adding "Girls make the rules!" caption (shown below, right).

In 2015, a version of the image captioned "I am a male who believes in female supremacy" gained popularity in BDSM communities (shown below). On October 12th, 2015, Facebook[2] group BDSM Lovers adopted the image as their profile image, which is the earliest found use of the image online.

The image had not been used as a snowclone meme format prior to February 2020. On February 9th, 2020, Instagram[5] account worldofmera posted the earliest found edit of the image, with the caption altered to "I believe in Parasite supremacy" (shown below, left). The post accumulated over 480 likes in one year. On February 17th, Instagram[6] user you_are_what_you_yeet reposted a Froggy Chair meme that gained over 1,200 likes in one year (shown below, right).

In the following months, the snowclone format gradually gained popularity on social media, primarily on Instagram and Facebook.
