Origin

In the 2018 YouTube Rewind, Gabbie Hanna praises the YouTube community for its bravery in creating honest content that talks about difficult times. During her part of the video, she says "I am so proud of this community" (shown below).

Spread

After the video was posted, Hanna's moment spread as a reaction image. For example, Redditor joe_cesar412 posted it as a reaction image to a screenshot of a child electrocuting himself. The post gained over 23,000 points on /r/dankmemes on December 10th, 2018 (shown below, left). On December 8th, Redditor jtw used a still from a Filthy Frank video and gained over 1,400 points (shown below, right).

It was also used somewhat more sincerely when it was paired with news about how the Rewind surpassed Justin Bieber's "Baby" as the most disliked video on YouTube. KnowYourMeme user Mclellan made such an edit (shown below, left). /r/dankmemes user jkaeeagle^[1] posted an edit that gained over 79,000 points (shown below, right).

On December 21st, PewDiePie referenced the meme in a video that gained over 450,000 views in less than two hours (shown below).
