About
I Am No Borb refers to a comic where the character Meta Knight from Kirby is addressed as such, leading to fans adopting the nickname for the character. The comic was later turned into an exploitable.
Origin
On February 4th, 2015, comic artist KC Green published a comic on the website USGamer[1] as part of the webcomic Video Game Cheats 'n Beatums, where the character King Dedede attempts to teach Kirby swear words. Meta Knight then appears to dissuade Dedede from teaching Kirby such words, but then Dedede decides to teach Kirby another bad word, this time aimed at Meta Knight, calling him "Borb." After Meta Knight denies him being called the word, the comic ends with Kirby going around pasting paper signs of Meta Knight with the word on top all over Dream Land.
Spread
After the comic was posted, several remakes of the comic appeared online. On May 10th, 2016, a comic featuring Pokémon characters was posted to Imgur (shown below, left). On September 13th, 2016, Twitter user @peridotcq posted a comic featuring a baseball (shown below, right).
Additionally, the popularity of the comic led to fans referring to Meta Knight as "Borb." For example, a post to /r/Kirby[2] from October 7th, 2017 referring to Meta Knight as Borb gained 83 notes (shown below, left). A tweet posted by @LeRuseBird on June 15th, 2016, used the nickname (shown below, right).
