How Does Mike Wazowski Cry is a question posed by a Twitter user asking how Monsters Inc. character, a one-eyed monster with a giant eyeball, would cry. Twitter users imagined numerous possibilities, a la If a Dog Wore Pants.

Origin

On August 7th, 2019, Twitter user @curledbitch^[1] tweeted, "i wonder how mike wazowski cries," showing two edited images, one having a tear coming out of each side of his eye, and the other having one tear falling out the center. The tweet gained over 83,000 retweets and 246,000 likes.

Spread

In response to the tweet, several Twitter users posted hypothetical ways which Mike Wazowski could cry. Twitter user @kaiafterkai^[2] tweeted a drawing showing Wazowski crying one tear (shown below, left). User @Zebra_overlord^[3] tweeted it would become a mustache/beard combo (shown below, right). The various interpretations were covered by The Daily Dot.^[4]

Others pointed out how other one-eyed characters cried. Twitter user @SamiSenpai3 tweeted an image of how Sapphire from Steven Universe cried (shown below, left). User @ethanphillips84 tweeted a GIF of Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants crying (shown below, right).
