How a Creeper Walks, continued How a Skeleton Walks, How a Zombie Walks, How a Enderman Walks, refers to a cosplayer video posted by TikToker @positive_cosplay_lol in 2020 in which they show how each Minecraft mob walks, starting with a Creeper. In May 2024, meme creators on TikTok used ViggleAI to rotoscope different characters, celebrities and influencers into the dance. The template trended en masse going into mid-2024.

Origin

On July 10th, 2020, TikToker^[1] @positive_cosplay_lol posted a cosplay video in which they were dressed like a Minecraft Creeper, showing "how a creeper walks, how a skeleton walks, how a zombie walks, how a enderman walks." Over four years, the video received roughly 3.2 million plays and 320,600 likes (shown below).

Spread

Later in 2020, other cosplayers recreated the video on TikTok.^[2] On November 16th, 2022, TikToker^[3] @deez..nutsl0l reposted the original video, labeling it, "#cringe," receiving over 1.5 million plays and 82,300 likes in two years.

On January 18th, 2024, TikToker^[4] @agetha_st4r reposted the original video, writing in text overlay, "GUYS IM NOT LETTING YALL FORGET THIS," receiving over 739,900 plays and 21,400 likes in four months (shown below).

On May 16th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @kexxiz_ posted a video that used ViggleAI to rotoscope Akiyama Mizuki over the "How a Creeper Walks" video, receiving roughly 44,900 plays and 6,500 likes in six days (shown below, left).

After @kexxiz_'s video, others on TikTok followed the template, also using ViggleAI. For instance, on May 18th, TikToker^[6] @zeniartzz posted a version with Young Sheldon, gaining over 541,000 plays and 70,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).
