September 2003… several posters about a missing frog are found in Seattle. "Terry" seemed quite determined to get a frog back. A Hopkin Green Frog.

One year later the website lostfrog.org surfaced. It gained attention quickly, and the popular community forum Metafilter had two threads about Hopkin and the search to find him.

Hopkin has yet to be found, but what has been found is the story behind it.

It's seems Hopkin is not an actual frog but a toy given out by McDonald's with their Happy Meals during their "Animal Alley" campaign.

The Terry character was a 16 year-old boy who suffered from autism. According to this article, Terry's father does not wish that Terry has his frog returned to him.

Because of his Father's orders, Terry's search will go on forever. The quest to find Hopkin Green Frog will never ever end.
