Videos of the trend were popularized on TikTok in January 2026 as You vs. Homer experienced a peak in popularity.

On January 7th, 2026, TikToker^[1] @thesproutseedly posted a video set to "Laughing Vity Jersey" or "Night Mail" by PM_FOUR, the theme song for You vs. Homer, of several Bart players circling around a Homer player, garnering over 684,000 views in a week. The video is captioned "Homer ritual." This is the earliest known example of a video capturing the trend.

On January 8th, 2026, TikToker^[2] @tsuluface posted a similar video set to the same song in which the Bart players circle a Homer player using a skin combining Homer with a foot, garnering over 1.4 million views in six days.

On January 10th, TikToker^[3] @codaanim posted an original animation based on the Homer Ritual videos, garnering over 2.6 million views in four days. The animation was also posted to their YouTube^[4] channel, garnering over 600,000 views in the same span of time.

On January 12th, 2026, TikToker^[5] @notlittle_ace10 posted a version of the meme captioned "Homer ritual gone wrong" in which Homer starts spinning and floating in the air as the ritual goes on, garnering over a million views in two days.
