"His Smile Is Very Creepy" Girl, also known as Naima or @hair.soup, refers to a Black female college student in a pink shirt who told conservative, right-wing pundit and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, "His smile is very creepy," in a Jubilee debate video on YouTube and TikTok in September 2024. In the viral video clip, Kirk asks, "What does 'fetus' mean?" and claims that "fetus" means, "Little human being," in Latin. He then smiles at Naima. Naima winces and says, "Ew, his smile is very creepy." Kirk responds, "Smiling is creepy?" to which she replies, "No, your smile specifically." After the original video went viral, internet users made fancam edits with Naima and made fun of Charlie Kirk's Smile. The memes spread to Twitter / X, among other social media platforms, in the following days.

On September 8th, 2024, the YouTube^[4] channel Jubilee posted a video called, "Can 25 Liberal College Students Outsmart 1 Conservative?" in which 25 liberal college students debated a conservative guest on political and social topics. The guest was conservative, right-wing pundit and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The video was roughly one hour and 30 minutes long and received over 11.2 million views in 12 days (shown below).

On September 10th, 2024, Jubilee posted a series of clips from the video to its TikTok page. In one of the TikToks,^[1] Kirk stated his belief that "Abortion is murder and should be illegal." Students raced to debate Kirk on the topic and one Black female student was victorious. She was notably wearing a pink shirt and had a bridge piercing. Her name was later revealed as Naima and her TikTok^[2] account was @hair.soup.

In the video, Kirk asks Naima, "What does 'fetus' mean in Latin?" He then elaborates, "It means little human being," and smiles at Naima. She's visibly grossed out by his smile and winces, saying in an aside, "Ew, his smile is very creepy." Kirk then asks, "Smiling is creepy?" to which she says, "No, your smile specifically." Over the course of 10 days, the video received over 56.4 million plays and 5.6 million likes (shown below).

On September 9th, 2024, the TikTok^[3] account @hasanabi_live posted a clip of Twitch streamer Hasan Piker reacting to the moment between Naima and Kirk, gaining over 4.5 million plays and 542,200 likes in 11 days (shown below).

On September 11th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @tmtongaa posted a meme that used the clip in which they drew Charlie Kirk's smile on paper, receiving over 3.9 million plays and 775,500 likes in nine days (shown below).

On September 13th, TikToker^[6] @aquahedits posted a fancam edit of Naima and called her This Diva in the description, gaining over 3.5 million plays and 654,600 likes in a week (shown below).

On September 18th, 2024, X^[7] user @beyoncegarden tweeted the "His Smile Is Very Creepy" clip, captioning it, "she CLEARED him😭," receiving over 17.2 million views and 178,000 likes in two days (shown below).

Viral quotes of the abovementioned post surfaced in the following days. For instance, on September 19th, X^[8] user @grillpill_ tweeted a side-by-side comparison of Kirk and Naima, captioned, "He's such a disgusting creature," gaining over 218,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Naima / @hair.soup's Response

On September 15th, 2024, Naima posted a video to her TikTok^[9] account @hair.soup in which she discussed being on set for the Jubilee video, saying it was "super chill." She said that they didn't tell the students who they were going to debate beforehand and that she also didn't know who Charlie Kirk was. Her video received over 5.7 million plays and 1.1 million likes in five days (shown below).
