Hiccup Cult or Hiccup PNG Cult is a TikTok cult in which members change their profile pictures to edited images of the character Hiccup from the How to Train Your Dragon series of films, specifically an image of Hiccup with his arms crossed over his chest. The cult was started by TikToker @annesstinkysock on April 18th, 2025, after she posted a video about changing her profile picture to a funny image of Hiccup, inspiring some viewers to change their profile pictures. The cult spread over the following days as members began posting memes and videos about the cult.

On April 18th, 2025, TikToker[1] @annesstinkysock posted a video in which she laughs while talking about changing her profile picture to an image of Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon with his arms crossed over his chest. She talks about how funny she finds the image when she leaves comments.

The video gained over 2.8 million views in six days and inspired numerous viewers to change their profile pictures to images of Hiccup and other characters from How to Train Your Dragon and leave comments, naturally beginning the cult.


The TikToker[2] leaned into the cult and started posting videos addressing her "Hiccup PNG army," including an April 19th video in which she prints out the Hiccup PNG, garnering over 650,000 views in five days.

The cult became increasingly popularized over the following days, with several brand and celebrity accounts taking part in it. The cult largely spread through videos and memes referencing it.

For example, on April 20th, 2025, TikToker[3] @teyla.136 posted a meme editing Hiccup images onto Weezer's Blue Album, garnering over 570,000 views in four days.


On April 23rd, the @Duolingo TikTok[4] account posted a video playing into the meme, garnering over 261,000 views in a day. That same day, rapper bbno$ posted a video to TikTok[5] claiming he'd join the cult if he got 200,000 likes, garnering over a million views in a day.


Later that day, TikToker[6] @aururalight posted a video captioned, "Our generation is actually hilarious, like wdym a teenage girl started a hiccup cult and now official news accounts and Duolingo have joined in…," garnering over 1.4 million views in a day.


On April 24th, 2025, rapper and TikToker[7] bbno$ posted a follow-up video about joining the cult in which he is shown running away from someone with the Hiccup PNG on their phone, garnering over 230,000 views in under a day.
