"Hell Naw" Dog, also known as "Hell Nah" Dog, refers to a viral video of a French bulldog pressing a button that says, "Hell naw" when asked by her owner if she ate a treat. The video was uploaded to TikTok in early 2024 by TikToker @marks.gallery featuring his dog Creme. @marks.gallery uploaded multiple videos of Creme saying "Hell naw" in 2024. After the original video's virality, many made memes with the video like fancam edits. Others made Hood Irony memes or added text captions that object labeled the scene.
Origin
In June 2023, TikToker[1] @marks.gallery posted videos of his female French bulldog Creme. In September 2023, TikToker[2] @marks.gallery bought talking buttons for Creme. Going into 2024, @marks.gallery started going on TikTok LIVE with Creme to use the buttons for an audience.
On January 6th, 2024, TikToker[3] @marks.gallery posted a recording of a recent livestream in which he questioned Creme about whether she ate a treat when he was out of the room. Creme continually pressed the button that said, "Hell naw." Over 19 days, the video gained roughly 700,500 plays and 90,700 likes (shown below, left).
Two days before, on January 4th, 2024, TikToker[4] @dna4lifee posted a clip from the same stream that later became the most notable "Hell naw" clip of Creme, gaining roughly 1.5 million plays and 233,600 likes in three weeks (shown below, right).

On January 12th, 2024, Instagram[5] user @zanawayna posted the video as a Reel, gaining over 16.2 million views and 1.4 million likes in 13 days.
On January 19th, 2024, TikToker[6] @g.h.o.s.t.0.f posted the clip with text using the fire emoji and Speaking Head emoji, gaining over 15.2 million plays and 2.7 million likes in six days (shown below, left).
On January 20th, 2024, TikToker[7] @passionatesadism captioned the video, "Me denying something I absolutely did," gaining over 102,000 plays and 7,400 likes in five days (shown below, right).
During the same timeframe, Instagram users made video memes with the clip. For instance, on January 23rd, 2024, Instagram[8] user @fuckautozone posted an edit that made the dog angelic and replaced "Hall naw" with "Heck yes," receiving over 2,200 likes in two days (shown below).
Creators also used the video to make jokes about Stephen Hawking, like TikToker[9] @icechuc on January 22nd, 2024, who joked about Hawking denying the Epstein Island Allegations, earning over 8.9 million plays and 1.9 million likes in three days (shown below, left).
On January 24th, 2024, TikToker[10] @ollie4927 posted a similar video about Hawking denying an AI apocalypse, receiving over 6.8 million plays and 1.4 million likes in one day (shown below, right).
The aforementioned TikTok[10] was then reposted by Twitter / X [11] user @ony0ny on January 24th, 2024, gaining over 8,600 likes in a day.
