Posters online shared the video and made memes about Biden's possible reaction and thought process while listening to the song.

Harry Daniels, a TikTok personality who sings at celebrities and creates videos of their reactions, posted a TikTok on April 5th, 2024, (seen below) that showed him singing "National Anthem" by Lana Del Rey while clasping the hand of Joe Biden. The post received over 3.4 million likes and 14.7 million views over the course of three days.[1]

On X / Twitter, many reposted and joked about the video as it went viral. For example, on April 5th, 2024, actor and X user Paul McCallion joked that the song would lead to the banning of TikTok, earning over 54,000 likes over the course of three days (seen below).[2]

Also on April 5th, X poster @schizarella made a fake news headline type post accusing Biden of using a homophobic slur during the interaction with Daniels. The post received over 13,000 likes in the course of three days.[3]

On April 7th, 2024, X user @OregonMapGuy reposted the Shizarella tweet with a map depicting an electoral college landslide in Biden's favor, receiving over 41,000 likes in a day for the quote-post (seen below).[4]

The video was also discussed on Reddit, with users on the /r/lanadelrey subreddit giving over 1,000 upvotes to a repost of the video in three days on April 5th.[5]
