About
Haha Yes Hedgehog is an exploitable image of a hedgehog named Rizo from a series of Génesis Seguros advertisements showing the Ok Symbol captioned "haha yes." The advertisement featuring the animal was created as early as 2008 and became the increasing subject of memes in 2015 and 2016. In 2019, the meme was used as the order confirmation screen by Tesla Motors when someone purchased a Model Y.
Origin
The Spanish insurance company Génesis Seguros, or Génesis Insurance, uses a hedgehog named Rizo as its mascot. In one piece of promotional material, which first appeared online between 2008 and 2011,[1][2] Rizo is seen making the "OK" symbol with his hand next to their logo (shown below).
The image of the hedgehog became the subject of memes starting in 2015, used as a reaction image. For example, on May 19th, 2015, Know Your Meme[3] user MofomanV2 posted the hedgehog with the word "nice" attached to the bottom, one of the earliest uses of the image as a meme. On November 10th, a Redditor posted a photoshop of Rizo with a joint to /r/MaymayZone,[4] gaining over 100 upvotes in seven years. On May 9th, 2016, Awwmemes[5] archived a now-unavailable Facebook[6] post of the hedgehog captioned, "when the meme is very good haha yes" (shown below). This is the earliest known post of the meme. On September 13th a cropped version of the meme showing Rizo just captioned "haha yes" was posted to Know Your Meme.[9] It is unknown who first cropped the image.
